What sound massage looks like?

Breath

Each session with Tibetan bowls, whether individual or group, begins with special breathing exercises. Breath is the foundation of our cellular functions, energy levels, and overall health. Performed correctly, breathing can significantly enhance the healing effects of sound therapy. It serves as the bridge between the body and the mind.

Many people unknowingly practise shallow or negligent breathing, which limits their access to a sense of peace, relaxation, and their vast energy reserves. Proper breathing, however, allows the release of negative emotions and promotes profound relaxation. During the exercises, we will look into each other’s eyes to build trust and establish a warm relationship. While some may feel slight embarrassment at first, this quickly passes, leaving space for connection and healing.

Binaural beats …an unassuming name for a powerful phenomenon

After the breathing exercises, you will lie down in a comfortable position on your back. I will place a pair of comfortable headphones over your ears, and you will hear a rhythmic, subtle flow of special frequencies known as binaural beats. These frequencies encourage your brain to shift from a state of alertness to deep relaxation, creating a sense of calm and allowing you to disconnect from the outside world.

For some, the effect is immediate, while others may take a little longer to relax fully. Either way, this is a gentle and effective step into deeper relaxation.

First sounds

With your eyes closed, we’ll introduce aromatherapy into the process. You’ll breathe in the calming scent of high-quality essential oils or natural incense, and if needed, I can provide you with a blanket to keep you comfortable.

In this serene state, you’ll begin to hear the first tones of Tibetan bowls and the gong. These instruments will be arranged around you in a carefully designed pattern. Each tone will resonate fully, fading naturally into silence, creating a seamless journey between sound and stillness.

 

Sequences

The Tibetan bowls will sound in carefully crafted sequences, starting with relaxation sequences. These tones will help your body relax and become more receptive to the therapy. You’ll likely notice something surprising: you’ll feel as though you’re listening with your whole body, not just your ears.

The session will then transition into balancing sequences to harmonise your entire being. Next, activating sequences will stimulate your body’s self-healing processes. At this point, the silvery sound of tingsha cymbals will add a magical element to the experience. Many people find themselves so relaxed that they drift into sleep during this phase.

Experiencing the vibrations of life

For a deeper experience, we’ll move to the powerful sound of the gong, rich with harmonics. Tibetan bowls will be placed on your body and played using specialised techniques, creating vibrations that spread deeply in all directions.

You’ll experience cleaning sequences designed to remove negative patterns, including emotions, from your body. This is a powerful phase of the session. Depending on your body’s response, bowls may also be placed on your palms, feet, and chest.

During this step, you’ll hear the unique “singing” of the bowls, delivering deep, beautiful vibrations. Crystals may also be placed in or around the bowls and arranged near you, assisting the transformative processes occurring within.

The final sequences will cut away negativity and cleanse your aura. The second will fill you with abundance, love, and positive energy, leaving your aura fully aligned and harmonised.

Vibrational alignment with health

In the closing phase, we’ll use a 528 Hz tuning fork and delicate-sounding chimes to align your body vibrationally with health. I’ll gently guide you back to full awareness, allowing you to reconnect with your new self.

Take your time to absorb the experience. You may notice a range of new sensations and feelings. As you return to your daily life, remind yourself how much you love and value the unique person you are.
